Valerian Essential Oil
Valerian essential oil is a completely natural product that stands out for its wonderful aroma. It is prepared with a monastic recipe in order to keep all its valuable ingredients unchanged. Its main bioactive substance is valeric acid, which is found in the essential oil of the root. Valerian is considered a balancing herb, as it has the ability to adapt to the needs of each organism.
Valerian Essential Oil: Properties
Valerian has a very special smell which is perceived only at the root and especially after it dries. Valerian extracts used as a dietary supplement have a strong aroma, in contrast to the fresh plant which is odorless. Valerian Essential Oil, produced from the root of the plant, and due to its anxiolytic action helps to relax the nervous system and consequently insomnia, stress and nervousness.
It also helps with depression, fever, headache and hyperactivity. Valerian Essential Oil also affects other psychosomatic symptoms associated with overstimulation of the nervous system, such as menstrual cramps and gnashing of teeth.
Caution:
Essential oils are natural, effective and very pleasant to use. Their healing properties can benefit everyone. However, they should be treated with medication with caution and caution, following the recommended dosage. In case of overdose may occur headache, arrhythmia, nausea, difficulty in vision, diarrhea or drowsiness during the day. Valerian may interact with other drugs and should not be used concomitantly with analgesics, anticoagulants, antidepressants and sedatives.

Essential oils should be used with caution in the following cases:
- Some essential oils (eg Bergamot, Nerazzi, Lemon, etc.) can cause skin photosensitivity to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Generally we advise you to avoid exposure to intense sun for 4 hours after aromatherapy (massage).
- Essential oils should be used diluted in a base (eg base oil) when in contact with the skin. We recommend that you do not use insoluble essential oils on the skin.
- “Vulnerable” age groups (children and people over 60) should use essential oils in reduced proportions.
